We have built the only completely stochastic (probabilistic) data platform for measuring climate financial risk. Stochastic analysis is essential for uncovering the blind spots of single scenario analyses in this very uncertain world.

It enables clients to fully understand the impact of climate exposure at any point in the future to 2100, under any climate scenario, for multiple risk factors, wherever their assets are located. Our data is constructed around every single Physical and Transition Risk variable needed to conduct climate risk assessments, at any future period. We precompute and store these random variables as distributions over time. This data aligns individual risk factor projections with the physical location of assets across the entire surface of the planet, including oceans. Our patented multi-factor stress testing algorithm enables us to stress test physical assets – realistically and consistently – across all geographies. Access is available via API.

Our platform is the first on the market to solve one of the biggest pain points for financial institutions measuring climate risk: the physical structure of their counterparties. Our AI algorithm – consisting of over 1 million companies and 100’s of millions of physical assets – deciphers the complex network structure between parent companies (private and public), subsidiaries, and the full constellation of physical assets owned or operated by each ‘node’ in the corporate network. It contains granular information about asset type, emissions, financial data, worldwide ownership structure, physical location, latitude and longitude, country/state location, building size and more attributes (depending on asset type). VELO is a software product designed for enterprise use in asset management companies, banks, insurance companies, corporates, and government agencies. It may also be licenced as a product to help clients of these institutions navigate their own climate risks.

VELO contains all the analytics needed to aggregate data across the entire network of physical assets of a counterparty. With VELO clients navigate the causes of climate risk and financial impact into the future – down to a single asset, of a single subsidiary, for any climate scenario, for any period until 2100. This data is available for any of the million-plus companies we cover. Users can view single scenarios or a true stochastic (probabilistic) analysis, which has the advantage of uncovering the blind spots of single scenario analyses. VELO simplifies access to the data and analytics from our ClimateWisdom and AssetWisdom without detailed knowledge of the platforms. It can also be used to construct products for meeting regulatory or voluntary reporting requirements such as TCFD.
