RISKTHINKING.AI, a start-up specializing in capturing extreme possibilities of climate risk, is pleased to announce it was accepted into The Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) Climate Stream Accelerator Program.

CDL is a seed-stage accelerator based at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, which boasts a global network of scientists, inventors, economists and mentors. It’s high impact contributions unlock the potential of cutting-edge research while accelerating commercialization pathways. CDL’s Climate Stream Accelerator Program is designed to rapidly transform technological innovations into useful products and services in response to the climate crisis.

“Climate change poses an existential threat to life on this planet,” said Col. Chris Hadfield a CDL Mentor and Riskthinking.AI Board Member. “The urgency and magnitude of the climate crisis requires innovation informed by leading climate science.”

Hadfield said the program was inspired by calls from scientists, policy-makers and industry leaders to find novel solutions to the climate emergency including the creation and implementation of climate-related technologies.

To support the complex process of launching such technologies, CDL pairs founders of new ventures with mentors – accomplished entrepreneurs, experienced operators, active angel and venture investors, world-leading scientists, engineers, and technologists – who help them set objectives over the program’s nine-month duration.

Ultimately, the experience, motivation, network, and capital that CDL offers will accelerate Riskthinking.AI on the path to becoming the world’ leading purveyor of algorithmically-generated forward-looking scenarios that consistently and accurately capture the extreme possibilities of climate-related financial risk.
