COVID-19 Financial Risk Scenarios – April 2020

Posted in on
June 30, 2020

From March 26 to April 9, 2020, Riskthinking.AI in collaboration with Risk.Net conducted a global survey targeting risk managers, consultants and bankers to ascertain their perspectives on the COVID-19 crisis. In all, there were 303 survey respondents who shared their views on how climate change will influence future global pandemics, the likely duration of the lockdown in their respective regions, and how the current situation will impact the global economy over the next 6-8 months. We draw two important insights from our results:

  1. The first is that radical uncertainty exists regarding the duration of the COVID-19 lockdown and its likely effect on key financial benchmarks.

  2. The second is that, somewhat surprisingly, a remarkable concurrence of views is present; regardless of region, sector or perception of climate change.
