Charlie Donovan is a Visiting Professor of Sustainable Finance at the University of Washington in Seattle. He leads activities on climate change and ESG investing at the Michael G. Foster School of Business. Professor Donovan was previously the Founding Director of the Centre for Climate Finance and Investment at Imperial College London and Academic Director of its business school’s Master of Science in Climate Change, Management and Finance. He began his career as a Policy Analyst at the US Environmental Protection Agency during the Clinton Administration and subsequently spent more than a decade as a finance executive in the energy industry. He was the co-founder and chief financial officer of Cleandrone, a cleantech start-up based in Europe. Professor Donovan is the editor and co-author of Renewable Energy Finance: Powering the Future, now in its second edition. He is currently Academic Co-Chair of the Coalition for Climate Resilient Investing, an organization representing over $20 trillion of assets under management.
